Changes to Initiative and Referendum Process adopted in Referendum

Following the conclusion of a referendum on 35 Fünat 07 (30 October 2023), the amendments to the Basic Law proposed by the Initiative and Referendum Act (PUL 6-3) were adopted. The people voted 88.9% nationally in support of the Act, and the province of Theolonia voted to approve as well with 100% of votes in the affirmative. With approval from the people and the provinces as required by law, the provisions are approved and were officially added to the Basic Law.

The changes include a completely revised process for proposing public initiatives as well as changes to the rules for holding and counting referenda. The revised Basic Law can be found below:
